New doc: one click creates it
Clicking a doc type now creates the doc. No select-then-Create step. 2026-09-30
1 · The whole flow, in one video
Click Markdown → created. Reopen, double-click List → exactly one doc. Reopen, press ✕ → nothing created. The line under the button counts what was made.
Ends on “Created: markdown, list” — the double-click made one doc, the ✕ made none.
2 · No footer, a ✕ instead
Create and Cancel are gone. Close with ✕, Escape, or a click outside. Nothing looks pre-selected when it opens.
3 · Cards say “click me” on hover
The hovered card lifts slightly with a blue border, so it's clear one click acts.
4 · Dark + Hebrew/RTL, and phone
Layout mirrors correctly in Hebrew; the ✕ moves to the left. On a phone the cards stack in one column.
QA — try these on prod after merge (~2 min)
- Project → + → New doc → click Document → the doc opens with the title focused.
- Open New doc again → double-click Data table → only one new table appears in the project.
- Open New doc → press ✕ / Esc / click outside → dialog closes, nothing created.
- Still works: New doc from the sidebar project menu and from a right-click on a folder creates the doc in that project/folder.
- Still works: turned-off extensions (tables/lists/markdown) don't show as cards.
Captured from the real NewDocModal component on a local harness page. The signed-in app can't run locally (the dev database is gone) and PR previews can't sign in, so in-app checks happen on prod.
